Sedric Insights MCP connects your Sedric marketing compliance data to the AI assistant your team already uses — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code or Codex. Ask a question in plain language, and the assistant answers from Sedric’s own rules and findings, with links back to the asset in Sedric.
It’s read-only: the assistant can look at your data, but it can’t change anything in Sedric. And each person signs in with their own Sedric account, so they only see what they can already see in the app.
What you can ask
Anything you could answer by searching your assets and reading their findings — without building a report first.
Use case | Who it’s for | Try asking |
Compliance reporting | Compliance managers | “Which rules failed most often on our drafts this month?” · “Which published pages failed the short risk disclaimer rule since September 1?” |
Triage | Reviewers | “Show me the 10 published pages with the most violations that are still in review.” · “Open the worst one and explain each violation.” |
Partner follow-up | Affiliate and partner managers | “Why was this page flagged, and what should we ask the affiliate to change? Draft a short note.” |
Risk insights | Compliance leads | “Which channels and affiliates have the most violations?” · “Which of our rules never flag, and which flag on almost everything?” |
Leadership summaries | Heads of compliance, business owners | “Summarize this quarter’s marketing compliance risk for leadership in five bullets, compared with last quarter.” |
Training material | Compliance and marketing teams | “Find three real examples of bonus or referral violations and turn them into a do / don’t guide for
|
How it works
When you ask a question, the assistant decides which Sedric tools to call, reads the results and writes the answer. You can usually see each tool call in the conversation.
Tool | What it does |
List rules | Lists the rules evaluated on your assets, so the assistant can filter by the right rule. |
Search assets | Finds assets by type (pre-release drafts or published assets), review status, channel, failed rule, number of violations and date. Each result includes a link to review it in Sedric. |
Open an asset | Returns one asset’s latest version with every violation: the flagged text, the rule, its severity, why it was flagged and the suggested fix. |
Rule-by-rule results | Shows what every rule concluded on one scan: flagged, verified or not applicable. |
Same data as Sedric. The MCP sits on top of Sedric’s existing API, so answers come from the same findings you see in the app.
Same permissions. You see your organization’s data and, if your organization uses teams or units, only the ones you have access to.
Read-only. Nothing is uploaded, approved, dismissed or commented on in Sedric.
Before you start
A Sedric user account. Each person connects with their own.
Access to the MCP tab in Sedric, under External API. It has the server address and a setup guide for each assistant. If you don’t see it, contact your customer success representative.
An AI assistant that supports custom MCP connectors. On company plans, an admin may need to add or allow the connector first (see below).
Server address: https://core-api.sedric.ai/v1/external/mcp
Connect in Claude
Claude Pro or Max
Go to Customize › Connectors.

Select Add, then Connect, and sign in with your Sedric account.
Claude Team or Enterprise
An owner adds the connector once for the whole organization:
Go to Organization settings › Connectors and select Add.
Hover over Custom, select Web, name it Sedric Insights and paste the server address.
Select Add.
Then each person goes to Customize › Connectors, finds Sedric Insights and selects Connect to sign in with their own Sedric account.

Connect in ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code or Codex
Open the MCP tab in Sedric and follow the guide for your assistant. In every case you add the same server address and sign in with your Sedric account.
ChatGPT: custom connectors use developer mode. On Business and Enterprise plans, a workspace admin turns it on first.
Cursor, Claude Code and Codex: the guide has the exact setting or command to copy.
Sign-in and security
No API keys. You sign in on a Sedric page with your own account, and the consent screen shows which Sedric user you’re connecting.
Sessions renew on their own while you keep using the connector. If you stop for a long time, you’ll be asked to sign in again.
Your AI assistant processes the answers. Sedric data you ask about is sent to the assistant you use, under your organization’s agreement with that provider. Check with your IT or security team which assistants are approved.
To disconnect, remove or disconnect the connector in your assistant’s settings.
Good to know
Marketing compliance only, for now. Pre-release drafts (MC Copilot) and published assets (MC Post 2.0). Older MC Post 1.0 assets and communication compliance data aren’t included yet.
It reads; it doesn’t act. It can’t upload content, start a scan, assign, approve, change findings or add comments. Do those in Sedric.
Big questions take more reading. A search returns up to 100 assets at a time. For trends across thousands of assets, narrow the question by date, rule or channel, or ask the assistant to go through all pages of results.
Check numbers before you share them. The findings come from Sedric, but the summary is written by your assistant. For numbers you’ll send to a board or regulator, confirm them in Sedric or a Report Builder report.
Need the same answer every week? Use Report Builder to schedule it.
Tips for better answers
Say which assets: drafts or published, and the date range.
Name the rule in your own words — the assistant looks up the exact rule.
Ask for links to the assets behind a number, so you can check them in Sedric.
Ask for a format: a table, five bullets for leadership, or a note to an affiliate.
Start broad, then drill down: “Which rules fail most?” → “Show the worst pages for that rule” → “Open this one.”
Troubleshooting
What you see | What to do |
Can’t add the connector in Claude | On Team and Enterprise plans, only an owner can add connectors. Ask them to add it once for everyone. |
Sign-in doesn’t finish | Sign in to Sedric in the same browser first, then connect again. |
The assistant answers without using Sedric | Check the connector is turned on for this chat, and mention Sedric in your question. |
No results, or fewer than expected | Check drafts vs. published, and the date range. You only see assets your Sedric account can access. |
For any questions, feel free to contact your customer success representative or reach out via the in-app support.
