Getting started with Sedric Platform

What the platform is, how it's organized, and how to complete your first review

Welcome to the Sedric Platform — one workspace for reviewing your content against your compliance policies. Whether your team reviews marketing assets before they go live or recorded customer interactions after they happen, the platform gives you the same way to find content, understand what Sedric found, and act on it.

This article explains how the platform is organized and walks you through your first review.

What is the Sedric Platform?

The Sedric Platform is the shared foundation behind Sedric's products. Sedric's AI analyzes each piece of content against the rules in your policy, then shows you exactly what it found and why, so you can confirm it, correct it, or escalate it.

It gives you:

  • One list of everything — all your content in a single table you can search, filter, sort and save as a view.

  • Analysis that explains itself — for every rule, whether it applied, whether it passed, and the exact place in the content that led to the result.

  • Collaboration — comment on a piece of content, tag a colleague, and they get an email.

  • A full audit trail — every action recorded, plus reports you can export.

Two products run on this platform, and they work the same way:

  • Marketing Compliance — marketing assets such as PDFs, images, videos, web pages and social posts.

  • Communication Compliance — recorded customer interactions such as calls and chats.

You'll see the product you're licensed for. If your organization uses both, switch between them using the product selector at the top of the left menu.

Who this is for

  • Reviewers — you work through content day to day, confirm or correct results, and approve.

  • Analysts — you filter, export and report on what the platform found.

  • Compliance admins — you own the policy and the rules behind every result.

Finding your way around

The left menu is your main navigation. What appears there depends on your product and your permissions.

At the top of the left menu is the product selector, showing the product you're currently in. Below it are your main areas — your content lists, dashboards, Policy manager, Reports generator and Settings. You can collapse the whole menu with Collapse at the bottom.

In the top bar on the right you'll find help, in-app messages, the learning center, your notifications, and your account.

Where you land: your list of content

When you log in, you go straight to your list of content. In Marketing Compliance this is your list of assets; in Communication Compliance it's your list of interactions.

From the list you can:

  • Search by name.

  • Filter — for example by status, date, policy or assignee. Combine as many filters as you need, and clear them all with Reset.

  • Save a view — once you've set up filters you use often, select Add view to keep them as a tab you can return to.

  • Choose your columns — select Columns to show or hide fields, and sort by clicking a column header.

  • Open an item — click any row to open it.

Opening an item

Opening an item gives you the same layout everywhere: the content itself on the left, and the analysis panel on the right.

Across the top you'll find the item's name, its status, and the action that moves it forward. Along the top of the right-hand panel are the tabs:

Tabs differ slightly between products, so you may see one or two additional tabs depending on what you're reviewing.

How Sedric analyzes your content

Five terms explain almost everything you'll see on screen.

  • Policy — the set of standards your organization enforces on its content.

  • Category — a grouping of related rules inside a policy.

  • Rule — a single standard evaluated against the content, such as a required disclaimer.

  • Finding — a piece of evidence behind a rule, pointing to the exact place in the content, with the reason it passed or failed.

  • Context attributes — what Sedric understood about the content, such as its channel or the regulation that applies. Context is what decides whether a rule is relevant in the first place.

The analysis runs in that order. Sedric reads the content and extracts its context. It then decides, rule by rule, whether that rule applies here at all. Rules that apply are evaluated, and each one produces findings. A rule passes only if all of its findings pass — a single failed finding fails the rule.

That's why, when a result surprises you, the findings are the place to look: they show the exact wording, moment or element that produced it.

Your first review, step by step

  1. Open an item from your list. Start with anything awaiting review.

  2. Look at the content first. It opens on the left, with tools to zoom, search and move through it.

  3. Read the results. In the analysis panel, rules are grouped by outcome so you can see what failed straight away. Click any rule to expand its findings and read the reason behind each one.

  4. Check the context. If a rule applied when you didn't expect it to — or didn't apply when you did — open the Context tab to see what Sedric understood about the content.

  5. Correct anything that's wrong. You can change a finding's result, mark a rule as not applicable, or adjust a context attribute. Whenever you make a change, add the reason: your explanation is what teaches the AI, and it improves results on future content.

  6. Bring in a colleague if you need to. Add a comment and tag them — they'll receive an email notification.

  7. Finish the item. Use the action at the top right to move it to its next status. Everything you did is recorded in the item's history.
