Work doesn't always stay in Sedric. An auditor asks for evidence, a regulator asks for a sample, a board pack needs last quarter's numbers, a colleague without an account needs to see what was found.
Reports are how you take that out — either for a single item, or across many items at once.
Which one do you need?
You want | Use |
Everything about one item — its analysis, findings and outcome | Export report from the item itself |
A record across many items — a period, a team, a policy | Report Generator |
The list you're looking at, as data to work with | Export from the list |
Exporting one item
Open the item.
Select the ⋮ menu at the top right.
Choose Export report.
This is the one to reach for when a single piece of content is in question: it travels as a document, so it can be attached to a case file or sent to someone who doesn't use Sedric.
Reporting across many items
Report Generator in the left menu produces reports covering many items at once — your audit trail for a period, your review activity across a team, your outcomes against a policy.
Open Report Generator from the left menu.
Choose the report you need — for example, the audit log report for your product.
Set the period and any other parameters.
Generate the report.
The activity log on an item points you here too: to take an item's history out as a document, open Report Generator and choose the audit log report.
Exporting your list
Sometimes you don't need a formatted report — you need the data. From your list, apply the filters you want and select Report. What comes out matches what you were looking at, filters and all.
Use this when you want to work with the numbers yourself, build your own summary, or hand a slice of activity to someone in a spreadsheet.
Getting a useful report
Filter before you export. A report answering one question is worth more than a report containing everything.
Match the report to the audience. An auditor asking about one asset wants that item's report; a quarterly review wants a generated report across the period.
Finish the review first. A report reflects the state of the content when you generate it, so resolve open findings and comments before exporting anything you'll rely on.
Save the view you report from. If you produce the same report every month, save the filters as a view so next month takes seconds.
